There is nothing like a custom piece unless it's 2 of them!

This cropped shirt and maxi skirt from Dimiloc are everything! Peep the long arms and almost too long length of the skirt. Man...isn't it amazing when something is too long? I really love the fabric in both pieces. They feel great and the construction is very thoughtful.

I also love how many ways you can wear this skirt. I personally like to pull it up and wear it like a maxi dress. You can even belt it to give the silhouette more shape. In the summer, take off the top completely and just rock the skirt as a maxi or throw on a white tee for a casual summer fit. I also have a look coming up that uses just the top. There are so many outfits you can rock with just these 2 pieces.

I think one of the biggest misconceptions about custom pieces is that they are too expensive. Yes, they cost more money in most case but it's an investment. Would you rather buy clothing that doesn't fit and needs to be purchased more often because of the quality or save up and buy something that is versatile and will last you. The latter is where I'm now taking my wardrobe too. I want everything in my closet to fit the way it should and be of the quality that it should be. I will be editing my entire wardrobe but these 2 pieces will definitely be stayng right in my closet!

When life happens, it happens.

It comes at you full force.

Often it takes no names, can be uncomfortable and the only thing you can do is pray your way through it.

Personally, I have had my share of those moments lately. Not even gonna lie...I have been eating my way through some of it. Comfort foods are my jam and while it's not a lot, I have gained the freshman 15 and hunni...I'm far from a freshman.

So when I saw these photos, I almost tossed them. It was a confidence check for sure. I immediately thought of photo shopping my sides and then I literally said out loud...

Girl, stop trippin.

I rebuke the agenda setting that created the false image of beauty inside of me. Not only would that be a fake concept of who I am at this current moment, there is absolutely nothing wrong with some curves bay-be.

There is also nothing wrong with being in a period of uncertainty. As a matter of fact, the uncomfortable times are the ones that shape you the most. Praise God for what He is doing in and around you. You are growing in ways that you can't even imagine. Without struggle, there truly is no progress. Best believe you will be stronger on the other side.

Will I lose the weight, probably. But the lesson is that weight shouldn't dictate how we feel about ourselves and nor should the circumstances around us.

So...no matter what you or your body is going through remember who you are, who He created you to be, stand tall and roll on!

This outfit is a testament to many things...

1. You don't have to buy something new to rock a new and exciting outfit. These are all pieces I have owned for some time remixed in to a fabulous fit. I can't tell you how many compliments I received. If you want a new look, it's often right there in your closet.

2. Try everything on! I saw these pants at the Collage Clothing Lounge in Oakland and thought what we all think while shopping in stores...there is no way those are gonna be long enough. I tried them on anyway and I am so thankful that I did because there are some of my favorite pants! You just never truly know until you try.

3. Ignore the RULES. If you let some people tell it, mixing patterns is wrong and furthermore tall women shouldn't wear loud colors or patterns because it draws more attention to them. Pish to the posh! SO FAR from the truth. Wear what makes you feel best, Give them something to stare at hunni! Don't let anyone limit your style and how you express it. From neon to patterns, don't let anyone hold your style back because often times they are afraid to express theirs themselves. Society, get away from with all that!

What I wish for you is freedom. Freedom in what you do. Freedom in what you wear. Freedom in what you feel about yourself. You are exceptionally beautiful inside and out and I want you to show the world your strength and self-love in every single way that you can whether it be in your style, walk or words...

Live out your purpose, live in your purpose and freely show the world who you are!

Is fleek cool still? Ah well. We are gonna rock with it.

Let me tell you about coffee. It was my constant companion until I started the Daniel Fast and gave it up completely.

It was sad y'all. Those first 3 days my body was in legitimate detox. It wasn't pretty and it showed me that my body was reliant on the company of the magic bean. I went 43 days without it, but still missed my friend and thought I would try to see her again without becoming co-dependent. So I drank a cup of coffee and guess what? We are cool again, just not on that level.

I drink coffee when I want it and not because I need it. I also leave all of the sugar on the curb because I think that is what I was really craving. My coffee was more sugar than it was coffee. Now my pal is straight up with a splash of some almond, soy or coconut milk. I love this new, healthy version of my compadre and she is a much better friend in return.

With that said, I love waking up on the weekends, throwing on some effortless cute, packing some strong coffee to go (that I make on the cheap) and explore my city. It's the perfect way to spend the morning and spark my day.

One thing that is hard for us to find is tall, chic, leisure wear. Thus, when I found these Super Soft Joggers in 37" inseam, I quickly selected every color and put them right in the basket. You can wear them with anything and it feels like you are walking around in your chonies. YES to all of that.

Another thing that I am in LOVE with is my personalized ID Bracelet from Candid Art. You can say anything you would like in an 8 letter package. Please believe I have more bracelets in the works...this Tall girl has a lot to say!

As you enter into the weekend, take time out to explore the things that you want. Whatever that is...do that in the exact way that you want to do it. Be YOU. Love YOU. TallSWAG.
