Cross Colors

I reached into my handbag yesterday and something was terribly wrong.  I didn’t really know how bad it was until I pulled my hand out and there was ink all over it.  You guessed it.  A pen had exploded in my brown cross-body bag and ruined it :(

Of course there are WAY worse things happening in the world but for a split second my fashion world had ended.  Straight handbag blues. BUT my frown quickly turned upside-down where I realized that this meant I could search for a new one…and the race was on!

I looked up the one I had, no luck, but then I found some that brightened my day in 2 ways; 1) they were ca-uute and 2) the colors were so bright that they literally brightened my day (#supercorny:).

Tall Takes Over the MET

The Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty Costume Institute Gala took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art tonight.  It was star studded but more importantly it was TALL studded!

Stats (left to right):

Top - Gisele (5'11" in Alexander McQueen), Rhianna (5'8" in Stella McCartney) and Serena Williams (5'9" in Oscar de la Renta).

Middle - Naomi Campbell (5'10" in Alexander McQueen), Iman (5'9" in Dolce and Gabbana), Brooklyn Decker (5'9" in Michael Kors) and Jennifer Hudson (5'9" in Vera Wang).

Bottom - Taylor Swift (5'11" in J. Mendel), Carmelo Anthony (6'8" in Versace), Lala Vasquez (5'6" in Vera Wang) and Ciara (5"9" in Prabal Gurung).

For the most part these tall fashionisas (and 'isto'...we see you Melo) hit the mark BUT Brooklyn Decker...what are you doing?  Beautiful woman, usually love her TallSWAG however I think she took a night off.  No offense to Michael Kors, because the dress is haute, however not the most appropriate one for this event.

Side note: I know that at 5'6" Lala isn't technically tall but the girl has mad SWAG so what the heck...she made the pic.

Tall rocked the MET tonight and more importantly celebrated the legacy of an amazing designer who left us too soon.  Rest in peace Alexander McQueen!

Maxed Out

I love the effortlessness of the maxi dress.  You can throw it on, put the hair up in a bun and BAM POW!..instant glamour.

Side note: with summer clothes, shaving increases, but with the length of a maxi dress you don't have to shave your legs (and with stems as long as ours you know it takes FORever).  A day less of shaving is a beautiful thing.  Go ahead, call me lazy, I accept it and embrace it:)

Let's Get Candid

Ok.  Listen carefully.  If you have not been to Barefoot Tess lately (or ever) you are doing a disservice to your shoe collection.  They have A - MAZ - ING shoes in sizes 9 to 15.  For example, the new Gwyneth Urbana wedge (pictured top left).  Are you kidding me?  Simply sick!  Honestly, you could wear these with anything.  No offense to your clothes but nobody will be noticing what you have on because they won’t be able to take their eyes off of your foot art.
