Seeing Red

Spring is definitely peeking though (and we love her) but until she is here for good, I have been spending the last chilly days I have in casual chic style.

I will always rock a fierce heel but when I work a lot (which seems like always nowadays), I tend to gravitate towards low-key looks in my downtime.

Today's outfit is a perfect example of casual meeting chic. It's completely comfy with an edge. The longline vest (which can be dressed up or down), gives the all black a pinch of drama and the pop-of-red Jordans pull the whole look together. The oversized clutch really wasn't strategically planned. I simply picked it because a bag wouldn't flow but I had a lot of stuff to carry that day.

Now you may notice that I am wearing my trusty Long Sleeve Jersey Body from the TTYA x Long Tall Sally collection and that is because I wear it with everything! It's one of those famed, basic pieces that you can layer with pieces that are not necessarily tall (like the longline vest). Invest in the basics and you will unlock a whole new wardrobe!

So that's my version of casual-chic dahling...what do you rock in your downtime beautiful?

BOMBS AWAY

Hello my Pretties! I hope you are having a day filled with light and crazy joy! If not, stand tall and walk confidently through the haze until you get there.

Today's look is on the comfy side. You know we love a high heel but there are days that call for fierce, flat moments. So many details to talk about...

This Tall Bomber Style Jacket is brought to you by Talltique. It's by the actual Talltique brand and made from eco-friendly vegan leather that looks and mostly feels just like the real stuff. It has a 29.5" arm length and can be worn in many different ways. One thing, make sure you check the sizing before you order. I am wearing a size 2 and I wasn't even a size 2 at birth. It's a fabulous staple for any Tall Girls closet. If Caramel isn't your thing, it also comes in black.

The layers of shirts are prime examples of what I constantly talk about. The striped top was one of those I tried it on in the store and ohmygosh it actually works pieces and the Tall chambray top is a Tall basic I ordered online that was a little pricey but totally worth it because I use it as a foundation for SO many outfits. I mean I have worn this bad boy so many times that the cost has become obsolete (at least that is what I tell myself).

The shoes, the shoes! So...I searched the globe for size 12, chic slip-ons that didn't require me to donate one of my organs to pay for them. No dice. But then, out of the clear blue sky, (I am so dramatic) arose a perforated, sleek pair that goes up to size 13 for the glorious price of $19.99. Run that debit pronto. By the way, Payless, go on ahead and make a Tall Sista (specifically me) the face and voice of your extended sizes. Please and thank you.

Lastly, the busted knee jeans. Sigh. I couldn't find a pair to save my life. If I did, they were high-waisted and even though I live for a good pair of those, that's not what I wanted in my busted knee beauties. So, I took the task into my own hands and busted those knees right out of an old pair of 37" alloy jeans I had. I just put the jeans on, placed scotch tape where I wanted them busted, took them off (very important), made a small cut and then ripped them open. Wow. That sounds like an episode of Criminal Minds. Of course, right after doing so, life presented a Tall pair from ASOS. Don't be shocked if you see them in a post.

So there you have it...my little slice of casual Heaven. What do you flaunt on your kickback days?

One of my favorite things to do is try out new tall lines. I am always SO excited when the items are on their way and can't wait to put the clothes on and walk around in them. There have definitely been some other tall lines that I didn't like (which is why you have never seen them on TallSWAG) however the ASOS tall line keeps giving me so much life! As you have seen in the past couple of posts, I am wearing it and loving it.

The Tall Ridley High Waisted Ultra Skinny Jean is another ASOS tall piece that I adore. They have just the right amount of stretch and unlike some of the other "tall" high waisted jeans out there, don't sag in the nether regions. They are also super long. It has the inseam listed at 36" but I think the stretch in the jean makes them even longer. I normally wear a 37" to 40" inseam and there is no way that a 36" inseam would hit me where is does.

I just love them. Look at the way the fabric and cut of the jean shapes the leg! I mean, I have been working out but not this much hunni.

Another thing I love about the ASOS tall line is the philosophy behind it: Focusing on brilliant fits, ASOS Tall adapts key pieces from the mainline collection to flatter the taller frame. More than just extra inches added to them, we exclusively fit all of our pieces with longer limbs in mind.

I am pretty sure we all just clapped and hollered at the same time.

Lastly, the price points are lovely (for example, these jeans are only $56.44) and there is free delivery worldwide. Pow!

So, I say all of that to say this; the ASOS Tall line is officially TallSWAG approved. Take that for what you will but from one tall girl to another...try it!

As many of you know, I am the Game Operations Manager for the Golden State Warriors.  As many of you also know...WE ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS!  If you didn't know, now you do.

I say all of that to say this, I am working my tail off!  It's a GREAT busy, but busy none-the-less.  Needless to say, when I am not working, I am doing as little as possible and SUPER casual.

While we all know I love a fierce heel, after standing in those bad boys all game, these days in my off time, you are more then likely going to catch me in a flat (a fabulous one of course). I'm a huge fan of these MIA flats that I picked up for under $50 at Nordstrom Rack. They are comfy and blinged out. What's not to love?

The oversized dress shirt from Collage Clothing Lounge is one of my go-to casual shirts.  It's one of those "feels like pajamas but doesn't look like pajamas" kind of shirts. Win-Win situation.

One thing I always have to have in my casual fit is a pop of something.  Whether it be color, texture and/or print it must add an extra something to the equation. These tall ankle, animal print skinnies from Old Navy do the trick.

What about the frosting for a casual look?  I say go big or go home. I chose to go chains and more chains for this look but whatever you choose, in my humble opinion, do it big.

And for the piece de resistance, THE HANDBAG! My new love from Long Tall Sally (Yes. They have accessories too!).  It holds everything, is very well made and the color is perfect for this season and seasons to come. Want something a little louder?  It comes in red too.  Approved investment piece.

Now that you have the 101 on my casual look, what's yours?
