Today I bring you 3 items that are incredibly hard for us to find; a maxi cardigan that is actually a maxi, over-the-knee boots that are actually cover the knee and a bodysuit that you can stand up straight in without giving yourself the dreaded wedgie in both the front and back.

Let's start with this miraculous garm from Dimiloc. Like all of the pieces on the Dimloc site, it's custom made and as you can see the height is right. I love the detailed braided boarder and the sleeves are so long, that a tall girl shed a baby tear of thankfulness. I look forward to using this as a swimsuit cover up during the summer as well. The drama dahling...the drama!

Let me introduce you to my new bambinos. These boots are not only comfortable but truly go over our knees. They are from Smash Shoes, also come in a beautiful grey and in sizes 11-14. You read that right and it's perfectly OK to let out a little scream of joy.

Now...let's talk about bodysuits. I LOVE a great bodysuit. A shirt that you never have to tuck in? Yes please. But you know retailers don't make bodysuits in the masses for us but guess who does...ASOS! They have haute, tall bodysuits for every occasion and I for one will take one of each.

And this my friends is what happens when you find pieces that fit...smiles everywhere! Ironically, this is all you really need. Yes, I love this outfit but your smile surpasses anything you could ever put on. You alone are enough. You alone are beautiful. You alone are amazing. Whatever you put on is just icing on the cake!

Winter finally set in on the west coast...well...our version of it anyway. When it started to get nippy out, I went in my closet to create layers which led to some major mixing of tall staples and off-the-rack items.

I began where I always do; a tall foundation. I used 2 pieces that are long and slimming. They cover and create the perfect palate for layers.

I then added a long, sleeveless sweater with a high collar to class up the joint and polished the look off with the marbled faux fur vest. With the foundation being appropriate in length, the layers can easily be copped right off the shelf. Don't believe me? Wear your tall basics to a store and try on a bunch of options. I guarantee you that you walk out with a new perspective of what will work for you in-store.

Well...that's all I got. Coming off of a 16 hour work day leaves little brain power. Yes, it says 16 hours. Don't ask.

Next up...I am off to NYC for a couple of days. I am checking out the Warriors on the road and most importantly having a blast in a city that I love with some amazing friends! I will be posting on Facebook and Instagram because that is what bloggers apparently do on trips:)

There are some pieces that I feel a tall girl must have in her repertoire. You may have heard me talk about foundational pieces. They are those base items that you can build multiple looks from and the Tall Long Sleeve Body from Taller Than Your Average is one of them.

This bodysuit is long enough in the body (no tugging on your muff) and has arms so long that I sometimes have to ruche them on the bottom (just the kind of problem we like).  It's perfect for layers and I often use it for turning a summer look into a winter look.  Just put it on under any structured sleeveless dress, add tights, boots and a scarf and poof-bam-pow, you have a winter fit.  It also looks amazing with trousers (sleeks you out and you don't have to tuck your blouse in all day).

I can't wait to show you more pieces from Taller Than Your Average but don't be surprised if you see this tall bodysuit in other posts (that's what washer and dryers are for:). 

I paired it with a thrifted skirt from one of my fav thrift stores Savers ($6.99), a faux moto jacket from Forever 21, some C. Siriano pumps and my go-to tights (that are plenty long) from good ol walmeezy (my language for Walmart).
