I know how frustrating it can be shopping off the rack. Why even try? Because you could end up with a beautiful ensemble just like this one.
The blouse is thrifted. Yes. Right off the rack at one of my favorite shops in Portland (my hometown), Vintage by the Pound. Are the arms long enough, heck no. But a simple tall girl trick of rolling up the arms to a 3/4 sleeve takes this $3 top to another level.
I walked into my local Payless and found these pretty pumps for under $30. They go up to size 13 in the store, so next time you are looking for a last minute shoe, stop by the nearest store location and walk out with the price perfect pair.
And now for the skirt...drumroll please...It's from Target (and no, it's not from one of the amazing yet still lightweight expensive designer lines). This Xhilaration sequin midi was right off the clearance rack for under $25 and as you can see, fits the tall fame and shows off our long legs in an amazing way. The versatility of this skirt is on 10. Dress it up, down and sideways. I will let you interpret all of the directions for yourself.
So next time you walk by a store and deem all of it's contents not for you, walk in and try things on anyway. You may come out with a stunning, instant, inexpensive fit.
